My thoughts on Chronicles of Riddick...

That was the flick that won out tonight. All in all, I thought it was a pretty good movie. It goes very well with Pitch Black. The parts of the movie that were meant to be funny hit the mark, and there were of some pretty sweet action scenes. The whole Necromonger philosophy of "convert now or fall forever" was pretty freaky, I thought.

There were only a few things that bothered me, one being the names that they used for different things. Necromonger, Creamatoria...just sounded kind of cheesy. Another thing was when Riddick and the gang are making their escape on Creamatoria, and they get caught in the sunset. Earlier, when they were in the prison, it showed that the planet's surface temperature got up to 700 degrees. Now, that's pretty freakin' hot. But when Riddick and co. get caught in it, they dodge it by hiding in the shade of this mountain. I'm just like, it doesn't matter if you stand in the shade or not, if it's 700 degrees outside, your ass is toast. With any action movie, there were some cheesy parts, and a little bit of overacting. Especially that black chick. I wanted to slap her a few times. The movie was left wide open for another sequel (I hear they want to do a trilogy).

If you can get past the little details, I definitley recommend this movie for whoever's looking for something to go see. If Chronicles does well at the box office, I'm sure Hollywood will want to milk the franchise for all it's worth. Another movie, more games and cartoons, etc...
